Tuesday 10th April to
Saturday 14th April
"When should I arrive and depart?
It is recommended that one should be in Malta by Tuesday, 10th April, 2018 and settle accommodation. Registration will be in the afternoon. The departure would be from Sunday 15th April onwards.
When should I register for the conference?
Registration will take place on Tuesday, 10th April, 2018 from 3 p.m. onwards at the foyer of the Catholic Institute Floriana.
Can I book accommodation for less than the whole conference?
Each participant can plan his/her own stay at the conference. One day attendance registration fee is also available.
Can I pay my conference fee now and book my accommodation nearer the time?
Early bird registration (extended deadline up to 28. February 2018) is recommended. Browse online. However, early accommodation and flight booking are strongly recommened. Valletta, the European Capital of Culture for 2018 is going to be very heavily visited in April.
How far is the Venue from Sliema Hotels?
This is about 5 km. Apart from public transport along the sea-front, we shall organise private transport.
Do I need to bring an instrument?
Most presentations will not require this. If you bring your own musical instrument you might turn out to be more popular than other participants during the Conference.
What else can I see during my stay in Malta?
Not too much, we hope, during lecture time. But there will be a lot going on in Valletta. At lunch time you can go down by public elevator from Upper Barrakka Gardens and walk to the collection of restaurants on the waterfront on your right as you exit the elevator area. The other two important historic areas in Malta are Birgu and Mdina. These certainly are a must for accompanying persons who would best take hop-on-hop-off routes. There are three: South, North, Gozo. On the 15th April there will be the MPO concert at the MCC, commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the Central Bank of Malta. From 15th April onwards there will be the festival organised by eufsc. This includes concerts by Sokolov, Ray Chen and Maxim Vengerov.
